An Owen County jury convicted Jay White of Spencer on Murder and Obstruction of Justice charges Wednesday in the 2021 shooting death of Elizabeth Stevens
Stevens’ body was found by a passerby on Texas Pike, in the evening hours of September 14th, 2021.
An autopsy revealed she had died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
An investigation by the Owen County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of Jay White seven days later.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 23rd.
