Saturday Sports Update

In High School Baseball action last night…Tanner Gilbert scored on a wild throw to third as the Lincoln Alices beat Sullivan in 13 innings 4-3.  Lincoln tied the score at 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh on a single by Drew Hambrick and survived a 21 minute delay due to the lights going off to pick up its 13th win of the season.

 

South Knox limited Shoals to just one hit in blanking the Jug Rox 11-nothing.  Jacob Allen had two hits while Jeffery Smith drove in three runs as the Spartans move to 11-8 on the season, 5-0 in the Blue Chip conference.

 

Lawrenceville scored 4 runs in the 6th inning and held on to beat Rivet 6-2.  Miles Gardner had three hits for Rivet while Brody Shots added two hits as the Patriots fall to 4-9.

 

The Lincoln Girls softball team lost to Castle 11-0 in five innings.  Amy’s Woodall had the only Lincoln hits as the Alices fall to 8-10.

 

The South Knox Tennis team continues to roll along, beating Bloomfield yesterday 5-0 on senior day.  Posting wins were Grace

Arnold, Caroline Bearď and Anna Provines.  Doubles winners include Abby Cunningham and Alli Hayden and Kinley Beard and Merideth Hayes.

 

Vincennes University All-American and 2024 NJCAA Central District Tournament MVP Michael Osei-Bonsu announced on social media earlier this week that he has commited to playing next season at NCAA Division I Missouri State University in Springfield Mo.

Osei-Bonsu Guided the Trailblazers to a combined 60-10 record over the last two seasons including two trips to the njcaa division I National Tournament and a berth in the elite eight ats a freshman
