Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes will hold a grand opening Wednesday for its new Specialty Pharmacy, serving residents in southwestern Indiana and southeastern Illinois.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony, in collaboration with the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at 305 South 5th Street in Vincennes, with an open house following from 10:00 A.M. to Noon.
The hospital says specialty pharmacies play a crucial role in health care by providing medications that may be costly and have limited distribution or require specialized monitoring or patient education.
GSH says until now, patients in the area may have obtained their specialty medications from distant pharmacies, causing inconvenience and delays.
