Indiana Department of Education Announces 2023-2024 STEM Certified Schools

The Indiana Department of Education has announced 20 schools as newly certified as leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, education.

They include four schools that renewed certifications, as well as 11 additional schools that are making strides to create an engaging STEM culture.

This year’s schools that have newly earned STEM Certification include Otwell Miller Academy in Pike County.

This year, four schools completed a rigorous application and review process, which must be repeated every five years to remain certified.

They include Loogootee High School.

In 2023, a new designation was added to highlight schools that have demonstrated significant progress in creating an engaging STEM culture.

Schools designated as Developing in STEM Certification include Linton-Stockton Elementary.
