Mother nature wiped out most of yesterday’s local sports. So on the local
sports scene for today…
The Lincoln Baseball team plays at Evansville North at 6pm.
The Lincoln tennis team visits North for a 5:30 match.
The South Knox Tennis team hosts Wood Memorial at 5:30.
The South Knox Baseball team travels to Barr-Reeve for a 5:30 start
The South Knox softball team makes the trip to Lawrenceville for a 5:30 contest.
The South Knox golf team takes on North Daviess and North Knox at Cypress Hills at 4:30.
The South Knox track team takes part in a quad meet at North Knox at 5pm.
Rivet tennis team visits Loogootee at five.
North Knox Baseball team is at North Daviess at five.
North Knox softball team travels to White River Valley for a 5pm contest.
The IHSAA Board of Directors have approved the full recognition of Boys Volleyball and Girls
Wrestling beginning the next school year. Originally, they were labeled as Emerging Sports
since 2022, but both sports have seen significant growth over the last two years and now will
receive full recognition bu the IHSAA. Currently there are over 14-hundred individuals
representing 177 different schools while boys’ volleyball has seen the number of teams climb to over 100.
One other key note…Beginning in the summer of 2025…there will be a second moratorium
week of no contact between athletes and coaches. Some area schools already have that in
place.
