A man accused of killing his mother with a machete in Gibson County will be in court today.
The trial for David Crowe is set to begin.
He’s accused of murdering 72-year-old Viola Clardy in October of 2021.
Court documents say deputies discovered Clardy’s body after conducting a welfare check on her.
They also found blood stains near the patio of the house as they were walking up to the door.
Crowe was arrested not long afterward and after going through a couple of psychiatric evaluations, he was found competent to stand trial.
