Dubois County area residents stepped up to keep their communities safe this weekend.
On Saturday, an estimated 650 people participated in the Drug Take Back event across the county, turning in approximately 346 pounds of unused and unwanted prescription medications.
The event gave residents a safe, responsible way to dispose of medications that might otherwise pose a risk if left in homes or thrown away improperly.
