Precautionary Boil Advisory Issued for Part of Walnut Street in Loogootee

The City of Loogootee Water Works Department is repairing a water main leak on Walnut Street, prompting a precautionary boil water advisory for nearby customers.

The advisory effects water customers on Walnut Street only, from Poplar Street west to the dead end.

Once water pressure is restored, customers should run cold water from a sink or bathtub until clear water flows.

Bring all water used for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene to a full rolling boil for 5 minutes before use.

Boiling is not necessary for other household uses like laundry or bathing.

The boil Advisory will remain in effect until water samples are tested and cleared.
