The Knox County Commissioners approved a pair of solar economic development agreements Tuesday night.
The Edwardsport Solar Park agreement passed on a 3-0 vote while the agreement with Unser Solar, which would build near North Knox High School, was approved on a 2-0 vote.
Kellie Streeter abstained due to conflicts.
Both agreements include 300-to-500-foot setbacks, emergency management agency training, construction-hour limits, and road improvements.
Public comments afterward were overwhelmingly opposed, citing student safety, appearance, and quality-of-life concerns.
Pending final approval, both projects could start around 2030 or after.
