Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita and Vigo County Prosecutor Terry Modesitt have filed felony charges against a Terre Haute-area man accused of voting illegally in multiple elections.
Prosecutors say Francisco Aguilar Romero, who was born in Mexico and holds DACA status, registered in 2018 and voted in six elections through 2024.
He’s charged with false registration, perjury and voting while ineligible, and faces up to 11-and-a-half years in prison.
Rokita says it’s the first such prosecution in Indiana.
He’s using the case to urge Congress to pass the SAVE America Act.
