Hoosiers can drop off unwanted prescription drugs for free Saturday at any Indiana State Police post during the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
Collection runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Lafayette and Putnamville posts will collect a day earlier, Friday at the same times.
Items that will be accepted include expired, unused or unwanted pills, liquid medications, battery-free vaping pens and cartridges, but no needles.
The service is free and anonymous.
Police warn that stored medicines may be misused or stolen, while flushing or trashing them poses safety and health hazards.
Find the nearest post on the Indiana State Police website or DEA collection site locator.
