Ball State University president Geoffrey Mearns is questioning the Indiana Commission for Higher Education for their push to restore performance funding.
Mearns says the plan is premature for Indiana’s seven public colleges and universities.
The commission is planning to present a simpler version of higher education funding to lawmakers next month as they want to put performance funding back in the state’s two-year budget.
Mearns questioned if there is enough time to win over lawmakers who might not realize his university’s state aid is roughly the same as it was 20 years ago.
