The U.S. Department of War has announced the planned installation of Indiana’s first advanced nuclear Micro Modular Reactor at Naval Weapons Station Crane no later than September 2028.
This marks a major milestone in the state’s energy and defense infrastructure, as it will be the first power-producing reactor in Indiana.
The MMR is designed to provide reliable, around-the-clock power independent of the commercial electric grid, ensuring continuous operation of one of the nation’s premier defense technology and weapons development hubs
