A Burn Ban is in effect for Lawrence County, Illinois.
The four Fire Chiefs of the Lawrence County Fire departments are asking all residents to refrain from outdoor burning until further notice.
That means:
• No brush, leaf, or yard-waste burning.
• No trash or debris burning.
• No agricultural or field burning.
• No open or recreational fires.
• And no discarding cigarettes or burning materials outdoors.
Fire officials say that even a small fire can spread rapidly under current conditions, threatening homes, crops, property, and emergency personnel.
