The Terre Haute Humane Society has reopened its animal shelter after a temporary closure linked to a parvo outbreak that led to multiple dog deaths.
The shelter says staff and veterinarians investigated the cases, deep cleaned the facility and followed ASPCA guidelines to help prevent the spread of the virus.
The humane society says parvo cases have increased across the Wabash Valley.
Officials say dogs recently adopted from the shelter were checked before leaving and adopters do not need to be concerned.
