The Vincennes Community School Corporation said Tuesday its technology provider, AME, was affected by a ransomware attack involving one of AME’s customers.
As a precaution, the district has temporarily shut down its servers.
Phone and internet service will be unavailable at all school buildings as a result.
Officials emphasized that the school system has not been compromised and that the shutdown is only a precaution while AME addresses the issue.
The district will provide an update when services resume.
