Republican State Senator to Write Medical Marijuana Legalization Bill

Republican state Senator Mike Bohacek is working on writing a bill that will be introduced in 2027 to legalize medical marijuana in Indiana.

Bohacek is from Michiana Shores in northern Indiana and his work on the bill follows the Trump administration reclassifying state-licensed medical marijuana last month.

His bill would legalize medical marijuana, create parameters for use in a medical study, and establish a tax rate and policy for the sale and distribution of the drug.

Bohacek says it’s been proven to be beneficial for some medical disorders “and could help people throughout the state who are suffering find some relief.”
