The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications has filed two counts of misconduct against Lawrence County Judge John M. Plummer III, alleging illegal marijuana use and a lack of candor during the subsequent investigation.
The charges follow reports of erratic behavior, and while the judge has 20 days to respond, he is currently not hearing cases.
The Indiana Supreme Court will ultimately determine his future, with potential sanctions ranging from a formal reprimand to a permanent ban from the bench.
