A University of Evansville security guard hurt his knee while trying to break up a fight outside a fraternity house on Halloween.
According to a police report, the guard went to the Sigma Phi Epsilon house around midnight Saturday after a fight broke out in the parking lot.
Police say someone grabbed him from behind, and during the struggle, the guard got the man to the ground but injured his knee.
The man got away, leaving on crutches.
A witness told police he later raised a crutch as if to hit the guard before she told him to stop and he ran off.
The university says it’s cooperating with Evansville police as they investigate.
