The Indiana State Police Evansville Post has announced the passing of retired K-9 Boomer, who died on Sunday.
Boomer served from 2014 to 2022, leaving behind a record of 429 searches, 190 arrests, 394 warrants, 32 tracks, 29 apprehensions, 114 perimeter deployments, 21 firearms removed from the streets, and more than 100 pounds of illegal drugs seized.
Boomer retired in 2022.
In his memory, donations can be made to Oliver’s Heroes at oliversheroes.org, supporting medical care and food for retired police K-9s.
