A local K-9 officer has some new protection on the job.
The Indiana State Police Jasper Post reports K-9 Leo has received a new bullet and stab-protective vest, thanks to a donation from the non-profit Vested Interest in K-9s.
The vest is sponsored by the Virginia L. Stoner Huguenard Endowment Fund of Corunna, Indiana, and embroidered in her memory.
The non-profit has provided more than 66-hundred custom-fitted, American-made vests to law enforcement dogs in all 50 states since 2009.
