The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for a large portion of central Indiana, in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. EDT Monday.
Forecasters say temperatures will drop as low as 35 degrees overnight, leading to frost formation across the advisory area.
The advisory covers portions of central, east central, north central, south central, southeast, southwest and west central Indiana, including the following counties:
Carroll, Warren, Tippecanoe, Clinton, Howard, Fountain, Montgomery, Boone, Tipton, Hamilton, Madison, Delaware, Randolph, Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Henry, Vigo, Clay, Owen, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby, Rush, Sullivan, Greene, Monroe, Brown, Bartholomew, Decatur, Knox, Daviess, Martin, Lawrence, Jackson and Jennings.
The weather service warns that frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation, and tender plants left uncovered may be killed.
Residents are urged to take steps now to protect tender plants, including bringing potted plants indoors and covering sensitive outdoor vegetation with a sheet or frost cloth overnight
