A Washington teen will be tried in adult court on charges including Attempted Murder stemming from a shooting earlier this month.
Washington Police were called to the 14-hundred block of East National Highway shortly after 1:00 a.m. on September 10th.
As a result of the investigation, 17-year-old Ayden Lofton of Washington was detained and transported to a Juvenile Detention Center on preliminary charges.
Subsequently, Daviess County Prosecutor Abby Brown formally charged Lofton as an adult with Attempted Murder, Attempted Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon, two counts of Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, and Dangerous Possession of a Firearm.
Lofton appeared for his initial hearing Monday in Daviess Superior Court where a trial by jury was set for February 23rd.
Meanwhile, the investigation is ongoing.
