New data from the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration shows more Hoosiers are turning to the state’s 988 suicide and crisis lifeline.
The data shows nearly 138,000 calls were made to the hotline between June 2025 and May 2026.
Officials say call volume has continued to rise in recent years.
In April 2025, the hotline received nearly 9,000 calls.
That number increased to more than 13,000 calls in April 2026.
Indiana maintained a 97% answer rate, placing the state among the top 10 in the nation for responding to calls.
