It was a new venue this year, but the excitement was the same. Seven FFA members from all over Indiana have the great fortune each year to make that frantic run to the stage after the delegate body votes on the new state officer slate. This year’s team will be led by new Indiana FFA President Hayden Stookey from Tippecanoe Valley FFA.
“It’s awesome,” Stookey told HAT on stage immediately following the final general session. “I’m still a little bit shocked to have this opportunity. I’m just so grateful and excited for the year ahead of us.”
Stookey will be joined by his six teammates at the Indiana FFA Leadership Center in Trafalgar.
- Secretary: Katie McClain, Carroll @ Flora FFA
- Northern Region VP: Jessie Frazee, Fountain Central FFA
- Southern Region VP: Baron Riley, Crothersville FFA
- Treasurer: Garrett Schwering, North Decatur FFA
- Reporter: Jaylynn Goodwin, Southridge FFA
- Sentinel: Khloe Hinojosa, Warsaw FFA
Stookey said he had been looking forward to this moment for some time.
“In eighth grade, I attended my first state convention and I saw the state officers up there giving their retiring addresses, and I knew that I wanted to do that someday. I wanted to be able to step up there and have an impact on Indiana FFA members unlike anything else.”
See the HAT interview with Stookey below, and congratulations to this year’s FFA State Officer team!
