Investment in Forensic Technology Reaps Big Dividends in Solving Hoosier Cold Cases

Governor Braun is crediting a multi-million-dollar investment in forensic technology for a wave of breakthroughs in Indiana cold cases.

A 20% budget boost for the State Police Forensic Lab has helped slash the DNA backlog and solve crimes dating back to the 1970’s.

Recent successes include an arrest in a 50-year-old homicide case and a conviction in a 1987 cold case.
