Governor Mike Braun wants Interstate 70 to be a toll road and charge drivers 15-dollars-60-cents to cross Indiana.
The tolls would pay to expand I-70 to six lanes as part of six-and-a-half-billion dollars in improvements.
Braun’s office released the state’s application for federal approval to charge the tolls on Monday.
The tolls would start in early 2029 and the upgrades to I-70 taking up to ten years to complete.
