A driver had to be rescued from the top of their vehicle Monday morning after they drove into flood waters on State Road 358 at the Knox/Daviess County line.
Vigo Township and Washington Township Fire Departments, along with Daviess County units responded.
Officials say the vehicle had been swept off the road by the flood waters.
A boat from the Daviess County side was able to reach the occupant of the vehicle.
The occupant was brought to the Knox County side and evaluated by Good Samaritan EMS.
The public is reminded of the extreme danger of driving through flood waters.
They say situations like this put both the occupants of the vehicles and rescue personnel in danger of injury.
