Chicago Man Facing Additional Charges After Fleeing from Dubois Co. Courthouse

A Chicago man facing several charges is facing additional charges after attempting to flee the Dubois County Courthouse on Wednesday.

At the conclusion of the hearing, Judge Anthony Quinn ordered that 37-year-old John Richter be taken into custody and required to post an additional $15,000 cash only bond.

Richter fled from courthouse security but was apprehended on the first floor by another member of the courthouse Security team.

Richter is facing additional charges of Escape and Resisting Law Enforcement.

He appeared in court Thursday for his initial hearing on the new charges where the judge increased his bond to $40,000.
