The town of Nashville in Brown County is looking for a new police chief.
The town council voted Monday night in an executive session behind closed doors to remove Heather Burris as the town’s chief of police.
No specific reason was given by the council, but public records show the vote was unanimous.
For now, Nashville Police Sergeant Daniel Scott will act as interim chief while a nationwide search is conducted for a new chief.
The council did note that Burris’ performance as police chief has been under investigation for the last six to eight months.
