Beech Grove Police Officer Shot and Killed; a Second Officer is Wounded

A Beech Grove police officer was shot and killed and a second officer wounded Monday afternoon after they responded to a domestic dispute.

Officer Bryan Elliott succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.

The second officer is in stable condition

Authorities say the two officers were shot in an area next to Beech Grove High School after 5:30 p.m. Monday.

The suspect, 47-year-old Kenneth Johnson, fled the scene but was later located and taken into custody at another apartment building.
