At Least 7 Deaths Linked to Faulty Glucose Monitors

The FDA says at least seven deaths may be linked to malfunctioning glucose monitors.

The agency announced this week that the monitors, manufactured by Abbott Diabetes Care, could be giving inaccurate low glucose readings, resulting in dangerous treatment decisions.

The monitors include some FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus models, and the problem could affect some three million devices.
