Gibson County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a Washington man Thursday evening for sending threatening and misleading emails concerning a vehicle he had previously owned that was at an Auto Sales business in the Fort Branch area.
An unknown person sent encrypted emails alleging that large amounts of drugs were in the vehicle and that an explosive device had been planted in the vehicle.
Investigators say neither drugs no explosives were found.
Although the emails were encrypted, detectives were able to trace them to an address in Daviess County.
That led to the arrest of 67-year-old Raymond Gossett.
The sheriff’s office says Gossett admitted to sending the threatening and misleading
emails.
