Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes is closing its hospice program effective December 31st.
The hospital says the decision by the hospital’s Executive Team and Board of Governors follows a careful evaluation of health care trends.
Good Samaritan will continue to provide palliative care services, which have long operated in conjunction with hospice.
As part of the transition, all current hospice patients will receive a letter with more details about the transition and the resources available to them.
Good Samaritan says it is working closely with regional hospice providers and is actively exploring multiple partnership strategies to ensure hospice care throughout the communities it serves is provided seamlessly.
