Vincennes Animal Shelter Receives $5,000 Petco Grant

The Vincennes Animal Shelter has received a $5,000 Petco Love Lost grant to improve conditions for the animals in its care.

Donations made at Petco checkout counters funded the grant.

The shelter is using the money to buy stainless steel cages for its exam rooms.

The new cages are easier to clean and help protect against highly contagious illnesses such as panleukopenia, a virus that can quickly kill cats.

Staff say the cages are a major investment but are built to last.
