Republican lawmakers in Illinois are taking action against Governor Pritzker over what they call “hateful rhetoric.”
The Illinois Freedom Caucus has filed articles of impeachment against Pritzker.
The group cited various statements made by the governor, including accusing him of comparing Republicans to Nazis in his budget address earlier this year.
A majority of the Illinois House of Representatives would need to vote in favor of impeaching Pritzker before a trial could begin in the Senate.
