A chemical fire at the PPBT manufacturing plant in Newburgh burned for approximately 13 hours before being extinguished on Sunday.
Fueled by magnesium and other chemicals, the blaze required a multi-department response and prompted a large shelter-in-place order that extended into Kentucky.
Although the order has been lifted, authorities are still monitoring air quality and have warned residents to avoid touching any ash that may have fallen.
No injuries were reported.
