The Indiana State Police and Crawford County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop early Wednesday morning that concluded a several month-long drug investigation.
Both police agencies had earlier received tips about possible drug activity in the Carefree area of Crawford County.
During the traffic stop, police learned that the driver 39-year-old Allen Crawford of Marengo had earlier gone into the restroom of a Pilot gas station.
Police found a loose ceiling tile in the restroom and recovered about 57 grams of methamphetamine which they were able to connect to Crawford.
Crawford was arrested for dealing in 10 grams or more of methamphetamine, possession of over 28 grams of methamphetamine; maintaining a common nuisance; and obstruction of justice.
A passenger, 42-year-old Sarah Williams of Marengo, was arrested for Dealing in Methamphetamine, 10 Grams or More and Visiting a Common Nuisance.
