A Carbon, Indiana woman is facing charges after hitting and killing a pedestrian walking along a Clay County Road Sunday night.
Indiana State Police say 36-year-old Courtney Withers was driving westbound on County Road 1450 North when she failed to see 48-year-old Samuel Chambers, also from Carbon, walking alongside the roadway and struck him.
Chambers was pronounced dead at the scene.
A child under the age of 18 in Withers’ car was later released to a family member.
Withers is facing charges of Driving While Intoxicated Causing Death and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Passenger Under 18.
