Federal health officials are warning consumers to avoid sunscreens marketed in whipped and foam form because they are not approved as effective methods for applying the product.
The FDA sent warning letters to several companies, including Supergoop, over those types of unapproved products.
The agency says these products are labeled and marketed as drugs but have not been approved by the FDA in those forms.
It noted that selling misbranded drugs is illegal under federal law.
