Less than 52 percent of Indiana high school graduates in 2023 went to college within a year of graduating.
The Indiana Commission for Higher Education says that is well below the state’s peak a decade ago of 65 percent.
Around 39-thousand students from the class of 2023 started college within the year, with 36 percent enrolling in a public four-year institution in Indiana, eight percent going to a private college or university, and seven-point-six percent attending classes outside Indiana.
