DNA evidence led to the arrest of an Evansville man this week in a 31-year-old Gibson County murder case.
Indiana State Police and the FBI arrested 61-year-old Timothy Farber Tuesday for the alleged murder of Norman Ellerbrook back in 1993.
Ellerbrook, who was 63 at the time, was found by his roommate at the bottom of a basement stairway at a residence near Warrenton.
An autopsy showed Ellerbrook died from blunt force trauma to his head.
It also showed he had multiple stab wounds, but none were in a vital area.
The Indiana State Police Cold Case Squad and FBI recently revisited the unsolved homicide of Ellerbrook.
During the investigation, DNA evidence helped detectives link Farber to Ellerbrookâs death.
