Hartford Bakery, Incorporated is voluntarily recalling hundreds of loaves of its “Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style 1/2 Loaf” because the product may contain undeclared hazelnuts.
The recall announcement says, “people with a nut allergy or severe sensitivity to hazelnuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products.”
The company said the recall includes about 883 loaves of bread across six production lots.
The products were distributed to retailers including Kroger and Walmart stores in 12 states, including Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan.
