The Vincennes Fourth of July committee has named Knox County Director of Veterans Affairs Martin Qualkenbush as the recipient of this year’s Spirit of ’76 Award.
In making the announcement, the committee noted that Qualkenbush, who served 24 years with the United States Army, has demonstrated a strong commitment to veterans and their families in the community to better their lives.
He will serve as the Grand Marshall of the July 4th Parade.
Qualkenbush will then be presented with the Spirit of ’76 Award immediately following the parade on Friday, July 4th in the dining room of the Harmony Club.
The public is invited.
