The state’s challenge against the video app TikTok can proceed after the Indiana Supreme Court this week declined to dismiss the case.
Attorney General Todd Rokita sued ByteDance, the Chinese owner of the app, in 2022.
Rokita says it violates Indiana’s Deceptive Consumer Sales Act and claims it has more sexual content, profanity, and drug references than advertised.
He says the app is unsafe for children and added in another lawsuit that ByteDance does not protect user data from the Chinese Communist Party.
