A Bicknell woman died Monday after the golf car she was driving was struck by a pickup truck at the intersection of Main and Third Streets in Bicknell.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says a 17-year-old juvenile, who was driving a pick-up truck, said he was the first to arrive at the intersection and proceeded through it when 57-year-old Anissa Everett also drove through the intersection.
The pickup struck the golf cart in the rear causing it to spin around and throw Everett onto the pavement.
The sheriff’s office says this was a very low-speed crash with little damage to either vehicle.
There were no noticeable injuries to either driver.
However, authorities say that after Everett was taken to the hospital, her condition progressively deteriorated.
She became unresponsive and died.
An autopsy was conducted Tuesday, and the cause of death was ruled to be internal injuries from the crash,
The accident was ruled as accidental.
