Starting this July, the speed limit on most of I-465 around Indianapolis will increase from 55 to 65 miles per hour.
You’ll start seeing the new 65 mph speed limit signs going up on or after July 1st.
State officials expect minimal traffic disruptions during the installation process.
While most of I-465 will see the higher limit, construction zones and areas with design limitations will retain their current, lower speeds.
Also, variable speed limits will still be operational in certain sections of the loop, adjusting based on traffic and conditions.
