Washington Man Arrested for OWI and Leaving Scene of Crash in Knox Co.

Knox County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Washington man Saturday night following a report of a driver striking a mailbox and running off the roadway near the intersection Wheatland and Meyer Roads.

They caught up with 52-year-old Christopher Later on US 50 near Nugent Road.

Authorities say Later had a blood alcohol level of .245, over three times the legal limit.

He was arrested for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Prior Conviction and Leaving the Scene of a Crash.
