Beware of Storm Repair Scams

The Indiana Attorney General’s Office is warning Hoosiers to beware of storm repair scams after recent severe weather.

The A-G’s office says scammers offer quick fixes, collect down payments, then disappear or deliver poor work.

Officials urge residents to avoid unlicensed on-the-spot repairs.

Since FEMA doesn’t charge for assistance, anyone demanding money to access funds is likely a scammer.

Hoosiers should check contractor reviews, get multiple estimates, verify licenses and insurance, and avoid paying in full upfront.
