Lawmakers From Indiana React to President Biden Ending Re-Election Bid

Hoosier lawmakers are reacting after President Joe Biden announced Sunday he is ending his re-election bid.

The Indiana Democratic Party released a statement thanking President Biden for the “exceptional job he has done as president” and said “now is the time to unite behind Vice President Kamala Harris to defeat Donald Trump and continue the progress of the last three-plus years.”

Republicans representing the Hoosier state also made statements after the announcement.

Congressman Rudy Yakym and Congressman Jim Banks both called for President Biden to resign, suggesting he is unfit for office.
